The Nundah Village Street Festival and Art Show won the award for Community Event of the Year at the 2017 Lord Mayor’s Australia Day Awards. The event is organised each year by the Nundah District Development Association and supported by local businesses, schools and community groups.
Congratulations to Ben Tibben, Annie Reid and Mark Roemermann who collected the award and to everyone who is part of making the Nundah Village Street Festival an amazing local event.
A big thank you to all the volunteers, including Jo Hein, Sharon Gingell, Lee Sims, Neil McNaught, Wayne McLennan, Michael Pomeroy, Jonathan Hood and Susie and Ian Mogridge.
Fitz + Potts have taken out the award for Brisbane’s Best Bar in The Weekend Edition’s 10th Annual EAT/drink Awards. Fitz + Potts was named Best Bar in Brisbane (yes, that’s all of Brisbane!) ahead of bars located in the City and Fortitude Valley. Congratulations to Cassie Potts and Brett Fitzpatrick, who have created a great local watering hole that is so involved in the community.
Fitz + Potts were not the only winners in The Weekend Edition’s awards – the Blockhouse was named Best New Café in Brisbane. In less than 12 months, Angel and Oliver have created a café and small bar that excels in breakfast, lunch, dinner and champagne.
“Thank-you to those who visit us for their morning coffee and cold brews, brunch, wine and catch-ups on a regular basis. We take pride in what we do best – thank-you Brisbane and beyond!” – Angel, Blockhouse.
Nundah – home to the Best Community Event, Bar and New Café – why would you go anywhere else?
