A vibrant new mural has transformed the Suburban Business Hub, showcasing what makes Nundah special—from its heritage buildings to the native wildlife thriving along Kedron Brook.
Local artist Kylie Harber, owner of Tiny Giraffe art and design studio, has created a hand-drawn map of the suburb at the heart of the piece, showing the streets and waterways that connect our community. Kedron Brook flows through the centre, while iconic landmarks like the Royal Hotel, Nundah State School and Toombul Shire Hall sit alongside illustrations of local flora and fauna.

A Rainbow Lorikeet adds a splash of colour to the scene, perched above native Common Rush plants. It’s a cheerful nod to the wildlife that thrives along the Kedron Brook ecosystem.
Kylie used abstract watercolour shapes to reference the Aboriginal meaning of Nundah—‘Chain of Waterholes’—connecting the suburb’s present to its deeper history. Her warm palette of pastel greens and oranges creates a welcoming atmosphere in the workspace.
“Through this mural, I hope to create an inviting, inspiring environment for work, collaboration and gathering,” Kylie says. “My desire is that this joyful, story-filled piece invites hub visitors to pause, notice the beauty in their local surroundings and feel a deeper connection to Nundah.”
The mural combines digital art with hand-painted watercolour, reflecting Kylie’s signature mixed media approach. Her work celebrates the places that matter to us—and this piece captures Nundah’s village charm, walkability and strong sense of community in one colourful snapshot.
